Our names are Holly and Doug Nicholson and we are bobtail cat breeders, Highland Lynx breeders and Caretakers of The Shepherd's Lair which is located in Virginia. We are happy to welcome each of you as visitors to our website and excited to offer the very first Highland Lynx Cat Calendar for sale HERE.

Nothing we have truly belongs to us, but has been given to us to care for by the Shepherd who brought it into being. We consider it to be a privilege (as well as a challenge at times :) to care for the creatures He has lent to us to enjoy.

Doug and I had both been single all our lives until the Shepherd brought us together when I (Holly) was 43 and Doug was 50. We do not have children and so consider our animals to be our kids. We currently have 2 dogs, 5 dairy goats, 24 guinea fowl, and 7 cats/kittens. You can see pictures of some of those interesting critters on "The Farm" page.

Doug grew up in the South Carolina mountains. He attended Tri County Technical College and Clemson University where he studied Engineering Technology. He enjoys gardening, how-to projects, animals, helping folks and building websites (and lots of ice-cream :).

I (Holly) grew up in West Virginia and attended the Parkersburg division of W.V.U where I studied social services and education. I love being a Highland Lynx breeder and a nutritional consultant, growing organic produce and this life in the country that God blessed us with.
